Zoe Parry B.A. (Psych), P.Grad.Dip (Psych), Assoc MAPS
Zoe is a Psychologist registered with the Psychologists Board of Australia and an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. Zoe has worked as a Psychologist in the private, government and non-profit sectors. She established Amherst Psychology & Counselling as a sole practitioner in 2005 has enjoyed developing the practice to now include a group of skilled and dedicated colleagues. Zoe works with individuals and couples, assisting them to develop skills required to enhance their wellbeing and enjoy a meaningful life. She is experienced in supporting clients with a range of difficulties including anxiety, low self confidence, depression, relationship distress, adjusting to major life changes (eg: career change, disability) and grief or loss. Zoe is experienced in the application of various therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), the emotional freedom technique (EFT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She is an accredited instructor in the well known 1 2 3 Magic and Engaging Adolescents parenting programs. She also has a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.
Laura Hann BA (Psych), Grad Dip Ed (Psych), Grad Dip (Systemic Family Therapy)
Laura is a Psychologist registered with the Psychologists Board of Australia and is a registered provider with Medicare. She has completed post graduate study in family therapy and has worked as a Counsellor and Psychologist in both the government and non-government sectors in Australia and England. Laura has experience in working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She uses a variety of models in her work including systemic, solution focused, acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) approaches with adults, sand tray and play therapy with young people and Gottman Relationship Therapy with couples.
Catherine Parker B.Sc.(Psych) Post Grad.Dip.(Psych)
Catherine is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychologists Board of Australia and a registered provider with Medicare. She has worked in the private sector and government and has a special interest in assisting clients to improve their health and well-being, particular in relation to self-care and managing anxiety and depression. She is also very experienced in providing career counselling and facilitating goal setting in life and work. She uses cognitive behavioural and solution focused therapies, as well as motivational interviewing and coaching techniques to assist clients identify their goals and implement change behaviours.
Claire Shuttleworth (nee Brandis), BPsych
Claire is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychologists Board of Australia and is a registered provider with Medicare. Claire has worked in counselling roles within the private sector for several years, providing psychological counselling and vocational assessment services. Claire works with adult and adolescent clients and has a particular interest in working with people experiencing depression, anxiety or self esteem issues, and also with people seeking career guidance. She employs a number of therapeutic approaches including acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and solution focussed therapies to assist clients in improving their wellbeing. Claire has experience providing counselling for a wide range of concerns and enjoys assisting clients to identify and progress toward their goals.
Andrew Mitchell, BPsych
Andrew is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychologists Board of Australia and is a registered provider with Medicare. With over 10 years of experience in the Government and private sectors, Andrew has worked with a wide variety of clients, in particular counselling individuals going through significant life changes. He is experienced in supporting clients with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, work related stress, and adjustment issues. He uses a varied therapeutic approach with an emphasis on solution focussed outcomes. Andrew is qualified in the use of clinical hypnotherapy and often integrates this into counselling sessions, as well as offering targeted hypnosis programs to assist clients with issues such as smoking cessation, anxiety, birth preparation and weight loss.
Peta Bateman B.Psych, Assoc MAPS
Peta is a Registered Psychologist who has experience supporting clients with mental health issues in acute and rehabilitation settings within the government sector, as well as counselling clients in private practice. Peta focuses on each client’s personal strengths and utilises a variety of interventions to assist clients in working towards the changes they want to experience in their lives. These therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness skills, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and solution focussed therapy. Peta works with individual adults and young people. She is a recognised provider with Medicare Australia and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
